Golf Away Tours Makes Epic Memories at Carnoustie and St. Andrews

Around the time our co-founder Robert Payne was testing out our services at PGA West, we partnered with our first golf travel company. In April of 2016, Toronto-based Golf Away Tours, led by co-founders T.J. Rule and Matthew Palermo, put our services to the test in Scotland.

First stop, historic Carnoustie Golf Links. It has been recorded that golf was played at Carnoustie in the early 16th century! And 500 years later, in 2018, Carnoustie will once again play host to the Open Championship (British Open), for the 8th time, and hang another framed photo of a champion kissing the Claret Jug. The history is certainly rich here. But I digress...

Our EGM photographer, Andrew Hutchison, met T.J. and Matthew out by the first tee box. Two unsuspecting golfers had been paired up with them - little did they know the paparazzi would be following them that day!

The weather was best described as "crisp" and the clouds in the sky helped create some great lighting for the photos. As good as you can hope for early Spring in Scotland!

With the round finished, and the scorecards fully covered with pencil marks, T.J. and Matthew headed over to the Old Course at St. Andrews to walk the last few holes and grab a few quick photos at the iconic Swilcan Bridge. Just because.
